INVITATION COMBINED DRAFT HORSE AND MULE

Class CI-1 - Feed Team Race Invitation
Entry Fee: $20.00 Combined Draft Horses and Mules. This is a jackpot and timed event. Each entry will use a four wheel wagon supplied by the show. Entries will be divided into heats, one heat per performance. The winner of each heat will compete during Saturday night's performance. The course and rules will be posted prior to the class.

Class CI-2 - Feed Team Race Finals Invitation
Combined Draft Horses and Mules. Entries will be the winners of each of the preliminary heats. Jackpot payout, - 1st-50%, 2nd-30%, 3rd-20%. There will be a 25% hold out fee. Each entry will use a four wheel wagon supplied by the show. The course and rules will be posted prior to the class.

Class CI-3 - Canadian Maze Invitation
Entry Fee: $20.00 Combined Draft Horses and Mules. This is a jackpot and timed event. Each entry will use a four wheel wagon supplied by the show. OPEN COMBINED DRAFT HORSE AND MULE

Class CO-1 - Amateur Team Open
Entry Fee: $10.00 Combined Draft Horses and Mules. Driver must be 19 years or older. Amateur is defined as a driver who has never won at the Northwest Draft Horse Show and does not drive in multiple hitch classes. A four wheel wagon is required. No cross entries with Show Hitch exhibitors. Class judged 75% on driving ability and 25% on condition, fit, neatness, appropriateness of attire and overall impression.
Premiums 1st $85, 2nd $70, 3rd $60.

Class CO-2 - Antique Unique Team Open
Entry Fee: $10.00 Combined Draft Horses and Mules. Class to be judged 25% on uniqueness, 25% authenticity, 15% quality of vehicle, 15% on appropriate draft or mule hitch and 20% on attire appropriate to the vehicle. No hitch wagons allowed that are shown in the Show Hitch classes.
Premiums 1st $85, 2nd $70, 3rd $60, 4th $50, 5th $40.

Class CO-3 - Junior Driver Open
Entry Fee: $10.00 Combined Draft Horses and Mules. Driver must be 10-14 years of age as of January 1, 2011. This class is judged on driving ability only. A four wheel wagon is required. One adult (experienced) driver must accompany the junior driver.

Class CO-4 - Youth Driver Open
Entry Fee: $10.00 Combined Draft Horses and Mules. Driver must be 15-18 years of age as of January 1, 2011. This class is judged on driving ability only. A four wheel wagon is required. One adult (experienced) driver must accompany the youth driver.

Class CO-5 - Feed Team Race Open
Entry Fee: $20.00 per driver. Combined Draft Horses and Mules. This is a jackpot and timed event. Each entry will use a four wheel wagon supplied by the show. Entries will be divided into heats, one heat per performance. The winner of each heat will compete for the jackpot during Saturday night's performance. The course and rules will be posted prior to the class. No cross entries with Show Hitch exhibitors.

Class CO-11 - Four-Up Driving Open
Entry Fee: $20.00 per entry. Combined Draft Horses and Mules. This is a jackpot and will be timed Each will use their own four wheel wagon. No cross entries with Show Hitch exhibitors. The course and rules will be posted prior to the class.
Premiums 1st $125, 2nd $100, 3rd $75.

 
CANADIAN MAZE AND LOG SKIDDING RULES AND DRIVING PATTERNS
Canadian Maze Classes CO-7, CI-3, CO-8, CI-4
The maze is run over a pattern that looks like a cross. The end of each of the four legs of the cross is both an entrance and an exit to the maze. Object of the race is to enter and exit all four openings in the fastest time possible. If the contestant enters or exits any of the openings more than once. the contestant is disqualified. There is a five second penalty for stepping/running over pylons. Each contestant will use a four wheel wagon supplied by the show.
Log Skidding Classes CO-9, CI-5
The object is to pull a log through the pattern in shortest possible time. A five second penalty will be assessed for:
1. Touching or moving pylons.
2. Any part of a team, teamster or log going over a side line.
Contestants will be disqualified for breaking the pattern. Teamsters must follow the teams through the pattern staying on the same side of the pylon as the team. Violations will constitute breaking the pattern.
 
OBSTACLE DRIVING, FOUR UP GAMBLERS CHOICE RULES AND DRIVING PATTERNS
Obstacle Driving Classes CO-10, CO-11, MI-6, MI-5
All driving obstacle classes have a maximum time limit of three minutes. Contestants going over the three minute time limit or going off course will be disqualified. A five second penalty will be added to the overall time for each of the following infractions:
1. Moving or knocking down cones
2. Loping your hitch
